Does it make me stupid that I got everything I wanted, just to have to walk away from it soon enough?

I sincerely want you to stay in my life. I just can’t help but think about what’s in store for the future. I don’t want to be one of those dumb girls who bases her life decisions off of a boy. No way in hell will I be that girl. There’s also no way in hell I’d let you leave my side. I know it’s months away, but these past 5 months have flown by incredibly fast. I don’t want any hearts to end up aching, and I know deep down that’s what is going to happen. How sad. We’ve set ourselves up for failure. I’ll keep acting like nothing bothers me, though. I don’t want a second of our relationship to be spoiled by these thoughts. I’ll hold this all in until July/August rolls along. After all, those were the best months last year.

But then you go on Tumblr, and you see something different. You see girls buying clothes, cutting their hair, taking laxatives, starving themselves, doing anything to make themselves look thinner. They base their self-worth on a NUMBER projected on a man-made scale. And to be honest with you, it breaks my heart. Because I know that you CAN eat without feeling guilty, you CAN eat fattening food without punishing yourself afterwards. What the scale says is NOT the most important thing. Being thin isNOT more important than being healthy. Being thin and not eating are NOT signs of true will power and success. Screw what all these pro-ana blogs tell you. You don’t have to be thin to be attractive. You are perfectly okay just the way you are.

When girls don’t have self-confidence, it breaks my heart.
